BIO
Originally from Northern New York and now based in the West of Ireland, Love’s approach to painting is guided by movement, observation, and immersion in place. Her process involves walking the terrain to build a relationship with it before responding through paint. Love’s work seeks to translate her experiences of place into visual form and to hold a moment of stillness in a world that is constantly changing. The paintings oscillate between the known and unknown, reflecting the landscape's shifting nature and revealing how the past and present coexist beneath the surface.
Love received her BFA from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2017 and her MFA from the Burren College of Art in 2022. She has exhibited widely, with exhibitions in Galway, Cork, Belfast, and further afield in New York and Nashville. Her current exhibition 'Footpaths' is on view at the Séamus Ennis Arts Centre through 6th April 2025 and her exhibition 'Echoes of the Coast' is on view at Daróg in Galway through 6th May 2025.
She is a two-time recipient of the Arts Council of Ireland's Agility Award (2022 & 2023), as well as the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant (2022 & 2024) and a Galway City Council Creative Practitioner Bursary (2024). Love was recently awarded the inaugural Plein Air Painter Artist Residency at Glenveagh National Park, Donegal.
Since 2022, Love has been a member of Barton Studios in Galway, where she continues to develop her practice.
